What is happening in Texas? There must be something in the water out there. There have been a lot of strange happenings in Texas lately.

A 17 year old student tried to hire a classmate to kill a girl interfering with his relationship with another girl, police said.

Thomas Ramirez was charged with solicitation of capital murder and he was arrested on Wednesday. Ramirez is a (or was a) sophomore at Sam Rayburn High School.

Seems Ramirez was serious and offered a total of $150.00 and some drugs to a 17 year old classmate to kill a freshman at the school.

The intended target was a friend of Ramirez’s 15 year old ex-girlfriend. Ramirez believed the girl had played a role in their breakup.

Seems Ramirez meet the student he solicited at a Pasadena park. The student was with a law enforcement officer posing as a hit man.

During the meeting, Ramirez provided the name, address and a photo of the intended victim. Ramirez provided them with a small amount of drugs as partial payment. It was understood he would pay the rest after the hit.

Needless to say Ramirez is now in the Harris County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
