Suspect attempted to hit police vehicles

Clearwater police have arrested a man after he attempted to hit multiple policemen in their vehicles, authorities said.
Officers initiated a traffic stop just before 3 p.m. Officers said Anthony Bernard Williams, 24, then accelerated his vehicle at an oncoming patrol car causing the officer to swerve to avoid a collision.
Officers then pursued Williams' vehicle. During the pursuit officers said Williams threw out a bag of cocaine that they later recovered.
Officers said Williams then tried to hit two more patrol cars. The chase ended when Williams drove his car off the road near Eisenhower Drive and Heather Ridge Road in Dunedin. Williams was immediately arrested.
According to police, Williams did hit one vehicle causing minor damage. He faces multiple charges.
