Unarmed women tried to rob a restaurant
Unarmed women tried to rob a restaurant.
Darlene Davenport, 43, was arrested after deputies said she tried to rob a Dunedin restaurant.
According to deputies she tried to rob the Shangai Express Restaurant on Main St. in Dunedin Thursday evening.
Davenport went into the restaurant and demanded cash from the register. She was unarmed.
She did, as in the movies, wear a coat and had her hands tucked into the coat as if she had a weapon.
The employee at the restaurant refused to give Davenport any money. The funny part is the employee slapped Davenports’ hand after the suspect pushed her and tried to reach into an open register. Davenport then ran out of the restaurant.
The Good Samaritan in the restaurant who saw the incident ran out after her and called 911. The Samaritan stayed on the phone with 911 until Deputies were able to arrest the suspect.
Davenport instead of making fast cash in a robbery, landed in jail and she is currently being held on a $10,000 bond for one charge of robbery.
