What an Awesome Story, Let me tell you about Sandy Counts

What an Awesome Story, Let me tell you about Sandy Counts

Over in Homosassa (Citrus County) Sandy Counts is a true example of a miracle.

On May 12 Sandy Counts, 62, was at home sleeping when all of the sudden she was shot several times through a window, then if that wasn’t bad enough her house was set on fire and she was left to die.

Sandy was the victim of her X-husband. He wanted her dead. Even though she was shot and in a room that she said “it felt like all the air being sucked out of it” she was able to escape. Sandy credits her mom and God for her escape. She said she felt like mom was on one check and God was on the other.

Months later Sandy is still recovering. She has to use a walker for assistance walking and she has leaned to see herself the same way those around her do: “A Living Miracle.”

Even more amazing, she is also preparing to start another school year as a teacher at the Crystal River High School.

She said the support of her students and her friends have brought her back this far.
"I've always tried to be a good person," she said. "I just didn't know how many people cared."

This is truly an awesome story and I think Sandy Counts is a true example of a living miracle.

Despite all odds she is well on the way to recovery and continuing with her life

I have known Sandy since 1980. She was my Broker and my mentor! What an honorable and upstanding person. I also know her ex-husband, Tim, and am horrified at these events. How could he? We love you, Sandy, and know what a strong survior you are!

Thanks for the comment.

I wish I knew more about her and how she is doing now. It would be interesting to do a follow up post on her.
