Cedric "CJ" Mills, 17, was gunned down in front of his own home in April.

CJ Mills was in his driveway shortly before 1830 hrs when two men arrived in a Chrysler Sebring with tinted windows and began shooting. They hit Mills twice in the chest.
A witness called 911 and ran to help her friend. Mills said “he couldn’t feel his leg”, somebody move his leg for him and the witness tried to keep him calm and told him not to move.
Mills later died from the gunshots at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mills daughter was working at McDonald’s on Dale Mabry Highway when she recognized Powell. Powell had been bragging about her brothers’ death.
After she recognized Powell, she elected to call her dad, Slyvannia Vidal Mills, 36. A short time later the father showed up and took him behind the restaurant and assaulted him.

Police have charged Slyvannia Vidal Mills with false imprisonment and battery.
I can only assume the Powell family should be happy he was only beaten and detained for the assault. I can’t even begin to comprehend the amount of anger and hatred the Mills family has towards Powell.
This family suffered a horrible loss of a loved one and then to actually hear someone brag about his death.
I think it’s sad that Mills was even arrested. Please keep in mind I don’t support or condone street justice, that’s why we have police. They are here to deal with these situations.
However even though I don’t agree with street justice, I can only imagine what I would have done if I was in the same situation as Slyvannia Mills. All I can think of is an eye for eye, tooth for tooth. I think my charges would have been a lot worse than false imprisonment and battery.
Mills has been released on a $2,500 bond. According to Mills arrest report at HCSO he was also arrested 4 years ago for battery. No other arrests were noted.

What are your thoughts about this case?
Would you have beaten the suspect bragging about murdering your son?
Or would you have called the police and let them deal with it?
