New ways to commit DUI… Let’s ask Dennis Boyle how he got arrested…

One could only assume Dennis Boyle, 32, was pulled over for driving all over the road, but we can only assume since the new media only reported that Boyle was stopped along U.S. 301…

Anyway, once the deputy got Boyle stopped the deputy was able to observe 80 small canisters of nitrous oxide on the front seat of Boyle’s car. Yes 80 not 8 or 18, but 80. Granted I’m not a Nitrous Oxide expert, but the little canisters we use to use in EMS was the size of a small fire extinguisher. I just cannot see anyone having 80 of them in the front of their car… Anyway…

For those that don’t know nitrous oxide is, it is know as laughing gas.

Now one has to wonder where in the world you could get 80 canisters of laughing gas.
I know some dentist use it maybe in a hospital; I know the ambulance service I worked for done away with nitrous oxide years ago. Anyway, the jail web site doesn’t list an employer for Boyle.

Now don’t get me wrong Boyle was not charged with DUI just so you know and I set the record straight since it is a little miss leading from the title of the post.

Dennis Boyle managed to get himself arrested unlawful distribution of nitrous oxide, which is a 3rd degree felony. Boyle did admit to using the gas on himself to the deputies involved in the arrest.

Also according to the Sheriff Web Site, Boyle has been released on a $2,000 bond.

Also according to the Sheriff’s site Boyle was also arrested in 2008 for DUI.

One thing I cannot understand is people with an addiction to any drug that alters their mental status. I guess I’m one of those people that like to be in control of my life so much that I don’t need anything that will alter my control over my life.
I guess from my background and experience in law enforcement and dealing with death on a regular basis from overdoses I could not see using any substance to alter me and possible cause me to land in jail for a felony.

I just cannot see a few minutes of an altered mental status being worth losing the rest of my life. But that’s just me.

And for those that want to claim I don’t know about drug addictions I have been dealing with a close friend that has been addiction to different medications (narcotics). This guy has lost everything in his life. He became homeless, has lost everything but his clothes on his back (and a couple of changes of clothes) and the really sad part is this guy is so smart and intelligent but his addiction has cost him everything. I guess I will never be able to understand the need and urges to take medications illegally.

Should be interesting to follow up on this case and see where this guy was able to come up with 80 canisters of Nitrous Oxide.

If you taste the Rainbow while eating Skittles, it may be narcotics….

That’s right a 4 year old girl got to taste the rainbow at Tampa International Airport when she ate a bag of Skittles.

The grandfather was with the child and opened the candy for her. The grandfather reported that the bag of candy was sealed up when he opened it.

Police think the bag was opened and Oxycodone or Oxycontin was placed in the bag of candy and then it was resealed.

Of course TIA in the interest of public safety pulled all the flavors of Skittles and the checks of the other bags of candy found no sign of foreign substance and no obvious sign of product tampering.

The girl was hospitalized and is expected to make a full recovery. Police and TIA are unsure where the candy came from since that flavor of Skittles is not sold at Tampa International Airport.

Pretty sad that a 4 year old innocently ate narcotics and had to be hospitalized. It makes one wonder if this is a new way they have to smuggle drugs onto planes.

Before long I can see it coming that no bags of candy will be allowed into an airport…

Folks beware… Check your candy before you eat it... If not you may very well taste the rainbow…

Was it a good or bad thing… 2 Directors for The Center for Urban Programs and Services in Tampa Arrested ….

In Tampa two men that ran an organization that would mentor children and families are accused of dealing drugs in the same neighborhood as the community center.

Michael Brown, 34

Romey Battle 36

Both men were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine. Police reported they found 182 grams of cocaine, $1,800 in case and 2 vehicles the men used to deliver the cocaine in.

I’m not sure how much that cocaine is worth, but 182 grams sounds like a lot…

Anyway, during the investigation the police learned the two men were dealing drugs and using the money from the drug sales to build a new center for disadvantaged children.

Both men had to post a $25,000 bond and they have been released from jail.

There was no information on how the investigation of the two men was started, but none the less they have been arrested now.

What do you think? Was it a good thing they were trying to do? After all if they truly were going to use the money to build a center for disadvantaged children, was it a bad thing that they done?

I personally know some people in my neighborhood that hasn’t had a job in 10 years. They have been dealing drugs to make a living. Granted the benefits aren’t there as a drug dealer, they have no insurance, dental or vision plan… but with the money they make in a weekend, they could afford whatever they wanted….

(What they make in 1 weekend, takes me over 2 months of working 7 days a week and 8 to 12 hours a day to even get close to what they make in 2 days)

Now what’s even worse than the weekend drug dealers in my neighborhood is the fact they have been reported to the police time and time again and yet nothing has been done about it.

Even worse is the fact that I know so much about them. All I have to do is sit outside and I have heard there marketing plans, how to increase sales, how to decrease the amount of drugs they sale to increase the sales and still the police have done nothing about these guys. The police claim there’s nothing they can do. Yet all I have to do is sit outside and listen.

And I even talk to the guys from time to time. They are pretty friendly and pretty open about what they do and how much they make. They have also taken pictures of the money they make and I have even seen those pictures.

Now just to make sure I set the record straight, I have never and will never use any illegal substance and I do not think drug sales is a valid way to make a living. BUT…

The sale of illegal drugs is a billion dollar industry. The demand is there and it seems there are more and more people ever so willing to deal the drugs to make that money…

With the lack of funds from local, state, and government why not take the illegal drug money and do something good with it?

Now granted, that doesn’t mean I think drug dealers should be allowed to be a director of a community center… But if that was the only way to fund a new center, was it a bad thing they were trying to do?

What are your thoughts? Let me know….

Starting Young in Palm Bay…

We hear every single day that someone has been arrested for possession of marijuana.

But we don’t hear a lot about the drug in grade schools and this case talks about the drug problem at Discovery Elementary School.

Police were tipped off that a 12 year old boy had marijuana in his possession. So the police ended up searching the 6th grader as he was walking home and guess what they found…

Yep, marijuana, pot, mary jane, 420, grass, weed or whatever you want to call it.

The boy had several small baggies of marijuana in his pockets.

The police said he got the marijuana from another 6th grader, who they think, in turn bought the marijuana from yet another 6th grader.

So we have 3 students so far in the 6th grade involved in a single drug arrest.

Police are now working on finding out who is supplying the marijuana to 6th graders.

I hope the suppliers are as stupid as they seem and get caught quickly. I know when I went through training at the academy they told us about dealers supplying kid to get them “hooked” at an early age to help improve their long term sales. But this is sickening to think a child is not in a drug free environment in elementary school.

And I can understand the need to expand any market and want to reach new customers but I don’t understand how they expect to make any profit from a 6th grader. It’s not like 6th graders have a lot of "extra" income to waste on something illegal.

Of course this also brings up questions along the lines of some of the other post...
Where are the parents? What's happening at home? Why is a 6th grader in possession of several baggies of marijuana?

Remember this Post? Stop the War on Drugs, What is she thinking???

During this post I was responding to a comment made by a CNN reporter that said we needed to stop arresting people who commit drug violations and send them to rehab. The reporter claimed the courts were too busy and if we sent the druggies to rehab and not jail, the courts could better serve justice.

I could not believe she made such a statement with the current daily drugs problems all over the USA.

The post I made is located here Stop the War on Drugs, What is she thinking???

Within this post I made reference to a case that took place in Forth Worth, Texas. This case involved two men coaxing toddlers into smoking marijuana. Now being the smart idiots they were, they also elected to video tape the toddlers as they puffed away.

Still not bad enough to make the stupid criminal list well let me give you some more details and I’m sure this will rank these 2 right up there as the stupid “burnt out” criminals they are.

The video showed the toddlers (who were 2 years old and 4 years old at the time) smoking and coughing as the one teen directed the toddlers to pass it back and forth to his brother, so of course authorities wanted blood test from the toddlers. Test results revealed the toddlers not only had marijuana in their system, they also had cocaine in their system.

Now that should surely rank them right up there as some pretty stupid criminals. But I think there is more. Now if you were stupid enough to record an even like this, what would you do with the video? I would think most reasonable people would hide it, lock it up in a safe and throw away the key. Keep it somewhere out of the hands of the police since the video showed their stupid criminal activity.

But who am I to say? I guess they stayed so smoked up they could not even remember the video tape. So they were careless with the evidence against them and it was discovered by the police.

How did the police get the video tape? Good question, in 2007 the police was investigating a home burglary and there searching the home of McCoy. The police found the tape during that investigation and arrested Demetris McCoy, 18 and Vanswan Polty, 20.

Vanswan Polty pleaded guilty to two charges of causing injury to a child and three unrelated burglary charges before his trial began.

That’s about the only smart thing he has done in this case. He faced anywhere from 5 years to life if convicted on the original charges, but with his plea he was sentenced to up to 7 years in prison.

McCoy was sentenced to 8 years in prison after pleading guilty to injury to a child and burglary charges this summer and had agreed to testify against Polty.

The mother claims she was in another room sleeping while the incident took place and she avoided charges in this case. For whatever reasons the mother did elect to terminate her parental rights and not the children who are 4 and 6 years old are being adopted.

This is a sad case. McCoy lived with the mother and children and it makes on wonder if this was a regular event in this household. It would be interesting to learn more about why the mother terminated her rights. If it was something that was going to happen regardless or if it was something she wanted to do to continue with a lifestyle that did not involve children.

Luckily for the children they now have a place to live and hopefully grow up without the influence of drugs.

This case reminds me of someone I personally know. He is under the impression that marijuana is a good thing and refuses to accept it is illegal. He stays high daily spending every penny of his money for drugs to keep that high going and takes no personal responsibility for anything in life.

He uses cocaine and marijuana to the point he is unable to even get a job now because his habit is so bad and has turned to male prostitution to make a living. So he sales his body for sex with older men that are willing to pay him and provide him with the drugs he wants and needs.

Why are the druggies the only ones that thinks marijuana and cocaine (or drugs in general) are a good thing.

Now just to make it clear, I have never hired an escort, I do have personal knowledge of his business since I was trying to help him out of the situation he is in. But I think I have failed miserable. He still continues to use drugs daily along with escorting as many people he can in a day to get the drugs they provide and the money they give him for sex.

I have also never once in my life used any illegal drug. Most people find it funny how I even learned what marijuana smelled liked. Now keep in mind I grew up in a small rural area and drugs where pretty much unheard of where I grew up. But anyway, take a wild guess where I learned what marijuana smelled like…

Let’s see if you can guess --- If you want to guess email me your response. Then in a couple of weeks I will make a post and see if anyone got it right…
