Cantez Caldwell had a plan to escape arrest. Deputies were going to stop Caldwell for reckless driving, but Caldwell had other plans.
Caldwell elected to attempt to elude deputies and ran across St. Petersburg to the Tyrone Square Mall. Once he arrived at the mall, he crashed into a light pole.
Caldwell done some quick thinking and now decides to flee the scene on foot and where did he go?
Macy’s of course, he ran into the store and tried to change clothes to disguise himself.
But overall his plan failed. Deputies were hot on his trail and took Caldwell into custody.
Now instead of facing a driving suspended charge, Caldwell now faces charges for driving suspended, fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident and retail theft.
