New ways to commit DUI… Let’s ask Dennis Boyle how he got arrested…

One could only assume Dennis Boyle, 32, was pulled over for driving all over the road, but we can only assume since the new media only reported that Boyle was stopped along U.S. 301…

Anyway, once the deputy got Boyle stopped the deputy was able to observe 80 small canisters of nitrous oxide on the front seat of Boyle’s car. Yes 80 not 8 or 18, but 80. Granted I’m not a Nitrous Oxide expert, but the little canisters we use to use in EMS was the size of a small fire extinguisher. I just cannot see anyone having 80 of them in the front of their car… Anyway…

For those that don’t know nitrous oxide is, it is know as laughing gas.

Now one has to wonder where in the world you could get 80 canisters of laughing gas.
I know some dentist use it maybe in a hospital; I know the ambulance service I worked for done away with nitrous oxide years ago. Anyway, the jail web site doesn’t list an employer for Boyle.

Now don’t get me wrong Boyle was not charged with DUI just so you know and I set the record straight since it is a little miss leading from the title of the post.

Dennis Boyle managed to get himself arrested unlawful distribution of nitrous oxide, which is a 3rd degree felony. Boyle did admit to using the gas on himself to the deputies involved in the arrest.

Also according to the Sheriff Web Site, Boyle has been released on a $2,000 bond.

Also according to the Sheriff’s site Boyle was also arrested in 2008 for DUI.

One thing I cannot understand is people with an addiction to any drug that alters their mental status. I guess I’m one of those people that like to be in control of my life so much that I don’t need anything that will alter my control over my life.
I guess from my background and experience in law enforcement and dealing with death on a regular basis from overdoses I could not see using any substance to alter me and possible cause me to land in jail for a felony.

I just cannot see a few minutes of an altered mental status being worth losing the rest of my life. But that’s just me.

And for those that want to claim I don’t know about drug addictions I have been dealing with a close friend that has been addiction to different medications (narcotics). This guy has lost everything in his life. He became homeless, has lost everything but his clothes on his back (and a couple of changes of clothes) and the really sad part is this guy is so smart and intelligent but his addiction has cost him everything. I guess I will never be able to understand the need and urges to take medications illegally.

Should be interesting to follow up on this case and see where this guy was able to come up with 80 canisters of Nitrous Oxide.

Denny definitely has a problem that he's been trying to deal with. Obviously unsuccessfully. While 80 canisters are a lot the ones that he had are not the size of fire extinguishers. They are about the size of a large thumb and are commonly used in whipped cream canisters that are used by some chefs. I will not post where you can get them as I don't want to distribute the info to those that don't know but you can get them legally from many places locally and on the internet. Like I said they're used to make whipped cream. Having some inside knowledge of this particular case I know that he completely intended to use all of them himself and was not intending to distribute (Not that it matters much). I am glad he was stopped before he hurt anyone and hope that he finally gets himself on the track to recovery.

Just wanted to say thanks for your comment.

I was planning on looking on line to see where you could by the stuff but have not done that yet..

Im also glad he was stopped before someone was hurt or killed.

I wish him the best of luck on his recovery. Hopefully he will want and take some help for his problems.

Thanks again for your comments
