Burned body found in dumpster was the result of a murder…

On May 4th the fire department responded to call for a dumpster fire.

As a previous volunteer firefighter I always hated to respond to a dumpster fire because you never knew what was in the dumpster and what hazards it possessed to your life and the life of your crew.

Hillsborough County firefighters made a gruesome discovery just after 2 am; once they extinguished the fire they found a body in the dumpster.

Almost immediately a witness to the murder came forward and immediate arrests were made in this case.

The victim, Robert Brewer, 26, was found to have multiple stab wounds.

The witness said that Robert Brewer was burned alive. The witness said that Brewer was recently released from jail and had met the murders just prior to his death at the Brandon Town Center food court. The victim was looking for drugs and went with the suspects to their apartment to party.

The victim was taking Xanax and it was reported that he passed out in Ackerman’s bedroom in a chair. Once Brewer passed out it was reported that Ackerman became paranoid and he went into the kitchen and grabbed 3 knives. Ackerman kept 2 of them and gave one to Brendan Terry and as Brewer laid there passed out from the Xanax, Terry and Ackerman started to stab Brewer in the neck and chest.

At some point Brewer was taken to a bathroom, stripped naked and placed in a bath tub and the stabbing started over again. It was reported that Brewer was repeatedly stabbed in the chest and neck

Because the witness was present and involved in the incident, the police were able to arrest

Brendan Terry, 20

Kasey Ackerman, 20

David Link, II, 18

The unidentified witness said he and Link were forced at knife point to go buy 3 bucks worth of gasoline. Apparently they left the apartment and returned with the gasoline.

My question is if he was forced at knife point, when he left to get the gas, why did he not call the police then? Did one of the suspects follow him to the gas station and hold a knife to him the entire time? If you knew someone was being murdered, why would you not call for help before helping to burn a man alive?

Something just does not add up here. But that’s just my opinion.

Anyway, Once they returned with the gas, it was reported that Brewer was placed on a piece of plastic and then into a duffle bay. They then used a hand dolly to move the man to the trash dumpster.

Again, no one called for help, no one called police, and no one tried to save Brewers life.

Brewer was placed in the dumpster and was screaming and banging as the gasoline was poured over his body.

Shortly there after they set the dumpster on fire and Brewer burned to death while he was still alive.

What a tragic, senseless death.

Now if it wasn’t bad enough that some druggies decided to murder someone, but at the time of the murder Ackerman’s girlfriend was in the apartment and she had her 3 year old son in the apartment at the time of the murder.

It’s reported that the 3 year old is now staying with grandparents.

Hopefully she will be charged and the child removed. If she takes her child with her to get high and party she doesn’t need to be responsible for a child.

And my question would be; why did she not take her child and run. Get the 3 year old out of the murder scene.

Not only will the suspects have to live with the screams of Brewer as he was being burned alive, but now we have a 3 year old that witnessed a murder.

Hopefully she did not go to the dumpster with them. I guess we will find out more as these cases progress through the court systems.

Terry and Ackerman are charged with First Degree Murder
Link was charged with being an accessory after the fact in first degree murder.

Sadly not only has Brewer lost his life, now 3 young people will probably lose their life as well. Regardless of the death penalty I see them all serving the rest of their life in prison.

All because of a group of druggies decided to party and one of them became paranoid.
What a shame.

I have no pity for the suspects and hope they get what they deserve in court. It’s just a shame that so many young people are so involved in drugs.

It’s a shame that it was reported that Ackerman confessed to the stabbing because as Brewer was there passed out he thought that Brewer was hitting on his girlfriend.

I still cannot understand the witness in this case. I can somewhat under the plea deal since it lead to quick arrest of the suspects but I will never under stand how you could claim to be forced to do something and not call for help.

This witness may have saved a life if he had taken the time to stop and call 911 instead of taking gasoline back to the apartment.

I would hate to be the witness, of course if he was drugged up at the time he will probably never remember that because of the lack of action he and Link took a man died.

Sad.

It will be interesting to learn more about this case
