Pinellas County Juvenile Detention Corporal now a Convicted Felon.

Parris Woods was a corporal at the Pinellas County Juvenile Detention Center and is now a convicted felon for sexually soliciting a young female teenager.

Gulfport Police said a school resource officer got the investigation started after the 14 year old female student reported that she had received text messages from a man who claimed he was employed at a local juvenile detention center where the teen has recently been taken.

It was a good thing that the school resource officer was just recently certified in cyber safety by the attorney generals cyber crime unit.

During the text messages it has been reported that Woods sent nude and obscene images of himself along with a request to meet in person so they could have sexual activities.

The girl (actually the police) said sure lets meet and once Woods arrived at the meeting place he found the Police waiting there for him and not the 14 year old girl. The victim said she had never met Woods and had just started to get the text messages from him.

Whatever happened to all of the dating web sites for a date?

Anyway, his actions have landed him 8 years in prison and once his sentence has been served he will have to register as a sex offender.

I have to wonder what people like this think. Obviously they are not thinking at all. But why would you think that just because you have access to her file at a juvenile detention center you would have the right to text her and send nude and obscene pictures to her. Not to mention working in a detention center and having the training from the academy, knowing the laws, knowing the risk of losing everything in your life for sexual fun with a minor.

Even though I don’t understand his actions at least he is where he belongs, behind bars for the next 8 years of his life as a sex offender.

Being arrested once wasn’t enough for Pinellas County Detention Deputy Kerry Hunt.

Hunt, 45, has been arrested again. This time he was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office on Ulmerton Rd.

Last time he was arrested for possession of anabolic steroids. During his last arrest investigators were able to uncover more criminal activity by Hunt.

This time Hunt was arrested for:

Possession of hydrocodone
Possession of porpoxyphene
Possession of testosterone
Possession of MDMA (ECSTASY)
Possession of TESTOSTERONE PROPIONATE
POSS OF TRENBOLONE ACETATE

And if that wasn’t enough he was also charged with

Sexual Performance by a child X 5

According to the media he had child pornography charges and his arrest report said sexual performance by a child. I guess we will learn more when more is released in regards to this case.

Now after his first arrest, I was amazed that they kept him on payroll since he was placed on administrative leave with pay and now even after his second arrest the media is reporting he is still on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation. WTF????

Why would they continue to pay him after a second arrest? He is showing still booked into the Pinellas County Jail. That’s really nice to know that we the taxpayers are paying money to a detention deputy as he sits in jail as an inmate.

I wonder if they will let him out for work release??? HA…

Kerry Hunt reported to work at the Pinellas County jail and as his shift started he got to find out fist hand what its like to be booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
According to the media, Hunt, 45, had been under a month long investigation after they received a tip that Hunt was using steroids and other illegal drugs.
During the search of his home they found a small amount of anabolic steroids and ecstasy.
Hunt has been charged with one count of possession of ecstasy and two counts of possession of anabolic steroids.
He has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

He was arrested this morning at 05:25 hrs and released on bond this morning at 08:17 hrs.

And in addition to the quick booking and release he has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

This makes not sense to me. If they had the evidence to arrest him why is he on administrative leave with pay. Is it special consideration because he is a detention deputy? Is it far for us, the tax payers, to pay an arrested detention deputy to sit at home?

Union, FOP regardless of his associations he was arrested, then booked and released and one would think at the very least any arrested officer would be placed on leave without pay.

The Sheriff needs to save money due to the budget cuts why is the sheriff still paying Kerry Hunt?
