Joshua Plecenik shot and killed his own friend

Joshua Plecenik has been charged with manslaughter.






What happened in Lake Wales, Florida? Good question.

One teenager is dead and another teen is charged with his death.
According to the police, Josh Plecenik, 19, accidentally shot his own friend Justin Bowen, also 19, Saturday night near a college in Lake Wales.

Apparently the two teenagers were at the “mud hole” in Lake Wales, a hang out spot that requires a 4 wheel drive to access.

At some point during the night a fight broke out at the mud hole and Josh went to his truck and got a gun. Josh intended to only fire a warning shot to break up the fight. He did fire a shot in the air.

The next details are unclear as to what happened. They don’t seem to know if Plecenik was knocked down or if he just fell down and accidentally fired a second shot.

The second shot struck his friend in the head and he died on scene.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said that Plecenik was booked into jail at around 7 a.m. Sunday morning and charged with manslaughter.

Officials say the death appears to be accidental, but they are continuing their investigation into the matter.
