Freedom or No Freedom?

Freedom or No Freedom?

That is the question. After two long days of trying to speak to a customer service representative at my cable company, I finally got to talk to someone. Now the need for the hammer is no longer a threat to them lol. As I was talking to the cable company he was telling me all about the services that I have (I have had the service over a year and never knew about any of these features) and during the conversation I was checking out some of the features I have on my cable. It’s pretty awesome to have everything in one service and now I know I can adjust anything about my service with my remote. Who would have ever thought we could go from the days of rabbit ears to see channel 7 (fuzzy at best) to all services controlled in the remote. Anyway…

As I was searching through some of the new features that I have I went to the news channel. This is like an on line paper with all the breaking news in my area.

One of the headlines caught my attention

Fugitive says he’s an all right guy.

The story goes like this…

In 1979 Michael Hess escaped from prison. He was sentenced to 65 years in a state prison for robbery. He was able to assume the name and identity of a dead man named Charles Swinger. He was able to get a job as Charles Swinger at the Press Box in Tampa.

The Press Box is a local sports bar in the Tampa, FL area. He has been working as a cook at the Press Box. According to co-workers and a couple of neighbors he was a quite guy and a loner and they were shocked to find out he had been on the run all these years.

Hess was arrested at his place of employment by the Tampa Police Department on Thursday. Hess said “I always thought this day would come”. Hess went on to say “but you can’t live in fear. I paid my taxes for the past 29 years. My conscience is relatively clear”.

Hess is now 57 years old. According to Hess, he is hoping for a break from the Judge. He said, “I mean I was working, doing what I was supposed to do basically”. Hess also said “and hopefully they are going to look back over these 29 years and see I’ve been an all right guy”.

Currently Hess is being held without bond in the Hillsborough County Jail. The police said Hess is facing charges of escape and marijuana possession (he had 12 grams of marijuana when he was arrested)

So I guess my question is freedom or no freedom.

What do you think? Should the judge give him a break or should he go back to prison to serve all of the time left on his sentence?

Also according to the arrest information he was also charged with no valid license. They must have arrested him as he drove to work.

Not that it matters, just thought I would add that part.
