Now the rest of the story...

Now the rest of the story… or at least part of it…

I went blogging today and had to laugh at some of the recent post made at some of the other blogs I read on a regular basis.

We have heard the opinions of so many regarding this case, then the opinions have turned into new theories of this case. Some of the theories make sense, some want to disclaim anything other than the guilt of Harlow and Joe. Of course they also want to disclaim that other people may be involved in this case. I will never understand the defensive stance of some and why they think some could never be involved in this case when in all fact; some other people actually had more to gain in the death of Bryan than Harlow and Joe.

With some of the recent blogs I have read it seems now people are concerned that the blogging concerning this case my have an effect on the outcome of the trial. First, unless the DA, Judge and Jurors are reading the blogs then this claim is about as outrageous as some of the other claims made in this case. Secondly, why are people now concerned with other information being presented in this case? Are they finally figuring out that there is a lot more to this case? Did they figure out that other people are involved in this case? Some bloggers seem concerned Harlow and Joe may go free because of the impact of the blogs. I wonder out of the people viewing the blogs how many people from PA have actually seen any of the blogs. Then of the people from PA we would also have to determine how many of the PA visitors are actually someone that matters in this case. Unless the DA, Judge and Jury are reading the blogs then it very doubtful that any blog will have any effect on the outcome of the trial.

One can hope and pray that the DA has been reading the blogs and some of the opinions and theories others have reported. I don’t think the entire case has been solved and the DA needs to stand true to his word that the case is still active and he has not ruled out other arrest in this case. The worse thing that could happen is the DA to have tunnel vision while he is trying to claim victory in making arrest in the case and the using the case for political gain v/s actual justice being served.

Luzerne County District Attorney David Lupas says on his web site “The District Attorney’s Office will fight crime on two fronts: criminal prosecution and crime prevention. Tough prosecution is the hallmark of the District Attorney’s Office as is the belief that crime can be reduced and our county made safer with a plan to prevent crime." The goals of the District Attorney’s Office are to provide fair, effective and expeditious investigation and prosecution of criminal offenses within Luzerne County, and implement crime prevention programs in cooperation with federal, state and local law enforcement, human service agencies, and citizens to ensure our community is safe.

Of course he has a little to loose if he would actually loose the election for Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Judge. David Lupas ended up spending $346,592 on his successful campaign for Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas judge, new campaign finance reports show. This was reported in May of 2007.

Now of course with his aggressive fight against crime and the tough prosecution from his office the numbers of violent crimes have continued to in crease over the years.

It would seem his plan is not working well.

We also need to think about why the DA announced he would seek the death penalty. Some have rumored that it was done to pressure Harlow and Joe into making a deal so he could bring the case to a close before Election Day. If Harlow and Joe did crumble and took a guilty plea this case could be done and over with as soon as the Judge agreed to the plea and signed the paper work. That would be a big boost to his election campaign. Even other attorneys involved in the case said “Lupas is going for death for the wrong reasons.” I guess we will never know his true intent for seeking the death penalty since he will not be prosecuting the case.

The DA has stepped up the case with the announcement of the death penalty, but has any evidence been stepped up? The case at best was circumstantial to begin with now the DA has taken on a bigger responsibility for the newly elected DA.

Wonder what will happen if the new DA does not want to seek the death penalty or the new DA feels they don’t have the evidence to support the claims that Lupas has made. It should be interesting to say the least to see what happens after the November election.

I have said from the beginning that there is a lot more to this case and I still believe that to this day. For whatever reason people are now concerned that they have blogged enough to cause Harlow and Joe to go free. I feel like laughing. Unless the bloggers are being subpoenaed to testify in a court of law, what we say on line will remain a matter of opinion.

I only hope that the DA does read the blogs on a regular basis. He needs to know not everyone supports him 100% and yes some of us still believe there is more to this case than we know at this time.
