More to the Robert Hendrix story…
As I was on the net today I ran across this information regarding Robert Hendrix…
The 16 year old girl he had “an inappropriate relationship with” was a former public safety cadet, according to the Lake Wales Police Chief.
Lake Wales PD did turn the case over to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and they arrested Hendrix.
The reports from FDLE did include transcripts of text messages exchanged from Jan, 21 and 22nd that are full of graphic sex talk between Hendrix and the girl. The girl did not cooperate with the investigators according to the report.
Hendrix met the girl in 2007 while she participated in the Lake Wales Cadet Program during this time she would frequently ride with Hendrix on ride alongs.
The night of Jan 21, Hendrix pick up the girl at her home and then they drove to Winter Haven and ate at the Olive Garden. Witness reported seeing Hendrix kiss the girl while there. Shortly thereafter Hendrix rented a motel room at the Best Western.
Lake Wales Police Chief provided this statement on the arrest:
"Be assured the destructive decision made by Robert Hendrix is in no way representative of the values of the Lake Wales Police Department. Disappointment and hurt represent the emotions that we must now confront. I ask for your continued support and prayers during this difficult time."

I’m not sure what the deal is and why the State is so lenient with former police officers.
I have noticed from many cases I have reviewed from almost every State that most former Police Officers also seem to be out on bail.
Could it be that they worked with the same court system that is now responsible for handling their case, could be. I’m not sure.
My honest opinion is any police officer arrested for any crime should be punished by the fullest extent of the law.
I don’t think any former Police Officer should ever receive any lenience.
As far as leaving the Police Department, you are right.
It by far has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made.
However, it was for the best. Post transplant I was taking 82 pills a day to prevent rejection, with that medication came dome serious side effects.
Not to mention, the transplanted kidney was place in front of me beside the stomach and one good punch could have done a lot of damage to me.

Th system is not being leniant with Robert. Almost anyone is usually elligable to post bail except for murder suspect and flight risks. Robert is neither. This information is biased and unfair to Robert who may I remind you is innocent until proven guilty!

Sometimes I get caught up in cases and do loose the thought of people’s right to remain innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
However, reading this case and many other cases regarding law enforcement especially I have found they have no bonds or lower bonds than you or I would have for the exact same arrest.
This information is biased and unfair to Robert? Not thinking so. Robert was able to do the right thing and not even be involved in a situation like this.
What bothers me is the fact that he was a police officer. Why do they think they can be involved with a minor child? Granted it may have been something that the minor wanted and agreed to participate in but does that make it right?
Robert was married and wore a badge.
Then we have the insurance matter and the call to the police dispatcher instead of the fire department.
Do you think that it was fair for Robert to assume people would think he of all people wouldn’t be smart enough to call the fire department?
I agree he is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law but at the same time if he could have maintained a higher standard as a police officer, we would not even be talking about his situation.

I was pulled over by this so called officer, first there were 3 officers on the scene then just him, he kept saying so what can we do to make this easier on you Ms Brown, now i'm a girl born and raised in Chicago and I knew what he was getting at but I played the dumb role. He wrote me 10 tickets half were bogus, after every ticket he said sooo what can you do to make this easier. I wanted to snap so bad but I played it dumb anyway I paid the fines on the true violations but refuse to pay the bogus ones. Illinois even gave me a license after a hearing and I explained it all, now i'm back in polk county got caught driving my 5 year old special needs son to the ER and i'm gonna have to do 18 days in Polk County Jail and I already did 20 on the pervert cop case. I did more time than him. He didn't get arrested till after my case but I'm so glad he is no longer a man of the badge and I wonder how many women he did this to. I'll lay odds that he has barely any prostitution arrests and they are in Lake Wales. Ty for letting me vent Robert Hendrix is a sad case for a man.
