Death Row Inmate Nelson Serrano Sued for 60 Million

Death Row Inmate Nelson Serrano Sued.

Nelson Serrano was convicted for the 1997 murders of four people. The murder case still remains the worst mass murder in Polk County history.

During his trial the prosecution was able to prove in court that Serrano staged a business trip to Atlanta to cover up murder of four people at Erie manufacturing, which he once partly owned.

This story also aired on TruTV recently. Serrano was convicted of killing his former business partners George Gonsalves who ousted him as president of Erie Manufacturing, Frank Dosso, Diane Patisso and George Patisso.

The civil Case

Patisso's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Serrano back in 2002, That case was suspended until after Serrano's criminal trial which ended in June 2007.

The case of convicted mass murderer Nelson Serrano is back in court.
The family of one of his victim's, George Patisso Jr., is suing Serrano for pain and suffering.

Serrano was convicted in 2007 of killing Patisso, his wife and two others at the Erie Manufacturing plant in Bartow in 1997.

Patisso's parents and sister told a six-member jury Tuesday how the crime still disrupts their lives a decade later.

"It's so hard to see, you know," said Patisso's sister, Ann Marie Patisso. "You glorify, you know. You look at your parents like they're your parents, and to see them suffer the way I do; it's so painful."

Closing arguments were made Tuesday afternoon.

Serrano is currently on death row and could not come to Tuesday's trial.
