Home Made Pad Locked Cage, for kids
Ricardo Gonzalez was charged with misdemeanor child endangerment charges for keeping his two daughters locked in a cage in his pick up truck.
Posen Deputy Chief Vickie Paggi explains the conditions inside a Chevrolet truck where two girls were found in a cage on Monday. Their father, Ricardo Gonzalez, was charged with misdemeanor child endangerment.
Gonzalez, 35, drove his Chevy S-10 pickup truck into a gas station when a bystander heard a child crying. She looked inside the truck and noticed Gonzalez pushing a juvenile’s hands back into the cage.
The bystander did not think this was right and notified police.
Police arrived and took Gonzalez into custody.
He did admit to keeping his daughters, ages 3 and 6, in the cage. Gonzalez also told police he used the cage to control his children so they would not run away.
According to reports it’s unknown at this time if the charges will be upgraded to a felony.
DCFS did take custody of the children.
Gonzalez is scheduled to appear in the Markham Courthouse July 31.
