Police say they have never encountered anything quire like it. A mom packed her stroller with a little more than the baby, bottles and diapers.


Stephanie Wilson, 29, had to add a few essentials to her baby’s stroller. Seems in addition to all the necessary baby supplies, she also decided to pack a box cutter, knives and of course if pack the knives and razor blade you just have to pack your sawed off shotgun. Yep, she also packed her sawed off shotgun right in there with her baby.

Wilson is currently in jail according to the Sheriff’s site. What landed her in jail you ask?

Well it seems as she was enjoying her stroll with her baby and other child, she had to threaten another woman with the weapons. They had already been in an argument and Wilson packed the stroller and found the woman again.

“It’s pretty sad when individuals have to put a child at risk by carrying weapons in a stroller, and this type of behavior will not be taken lightly,” Utica Public Safety Commissioner Daniel LaBella said Wednesday. “In my 20-plus year career, I’ve never seen this type of behavior or incident.”

Wilson loaded her stroller and went for a walk around 1930 hrs on Tuesday.

She then just happened across someone that she has had a previous argument with, the argument started again and it appears they were arguing over money.

As the argument escalated, Wilson then pulled the knife and threatened the woman’s life.

While her baby was in the stroller and her other child was walking with her.
Now if things were bad enough, she elected to pull the shotgun.

Wilson said the weapons were packed in the stroller for her protection. For some reason police don’t believe her. Police said “She had the weapons because she had just been in an argument with an individual, not because she was going to an extreme to protect herself.”

After she pulled the shotgun, someone called 911 and when police arrived on scene all the weapons were packed back in the stroller. Wilson was taken into custody.
Wilson was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one felony count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Wilson was taken into custody and sent to Oneida County jail without bail. She faces a court date later this month in Utica City Court.
