Sunstar Paramedic still in jail

Sunstar Paramedic still in jail…

Patrick Livingston is still in jail for sexually battery. He is accused of touching a patient sexually while transporting her by ambulance to a local hospital.

Livingston had a court appearance and the Judge decided not to reduce the $50,000 bond on Thursday.

According to media reports Livingston admitted to sticking his hand down the pants of a woman patient being transported to Bayfront Hospital. The incident took place on June 26. The victim requested him to remain in jail since Livingston knows where she lives.

"The defendant stated post Miranda that this was not medically necessary as we were pulling into the parking lot at Bayfront Hospital. The inference is that he admitted to committing the offense," said Pinellas Co. Circuit Court Judge Donald Horrox.

Livingston's attorney Joseph Hobson argued the judge should lower the bond because of the tactics Pinellas County sheriff's detectives used to question his client.

But the Judge said

"I would think it would be beneficial to know exactly what the alleged statement was that the defendant made when questioned by law enforcement and under what circumstances for any determination as to whether bond out to be reduced," Horrox said.

Livingston’s attorney voiced his opinion of what he felt was unfair about this case.

"He was questioned an entire weekend without legal counsel and without consulting an attorney," he said. I don't know whether or not he requested to speak to an attorney, the thought might have crossed his mind. I'm just concerned he might have been dissuaded to do so."

According to his attorney, Livingston had been a paramedic with Sunstar for six years.

"He's a community backbone," Hobson said. "He's got a great church, a great wife, a great mother and this could happen to anybody."

I guess it could happen to any paramedic if the paramedic puts his hands down the pants of a patient.

Sunstar said they've suspended Livingston and issued a written statement about the case.

That statement will not be posted here. There is conflicting information they released in the statement and it will not be posted here.

The paramedic did do something wrong, however, it had nothing to do with a little boy.

Re-read the post.

He is charged with sexually battery on a female patient.

Livingston did post bond shortly after this post was made.
