38th Homicide in Orlando, at McDonalds.

Here in Orlando the 38th Homicide just occurred at a McDonalds close to where I live. The shooting was at Kirkman Rd and Vineland Rd (which also happens to be area where I work)

The shooting took place at about 0143 hrs on November 2, 2008.

I drove past the scene on the way home from work and wanted to stop at McDonalds for a late night snack after working the last night of Halloween Horror Nights.

But the Police had the area blocked off and there looked like there were 50 people standing in the parking lot and police vehicles everywhere. They also had there Forensic Vans on scene when I went home at about 0215 hrs.

I figured someone was killed there with the amount of police presence and the entire being closed.

The shooting took place after the homecoming at Dr. Phillips High School.
There has not been a lot of information released about this incident. According to the media, police reported they got a call of shots fired but did not find any victims at the scene once they arrived.

However, they later learned that a 20 year old man had been taken to Dr. Phillips Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Now this part really doesn’t make a lot of sense either, the 2 other victims that were shot, also left the scene.

Where do you go after you get shot? One would hope the hospital; however, the 18 year old victim went to a residence in Rosemont and was later transported to Florida Hospital. The other victim was 14 years old and we are not sure where he went, but he ended up at Orlando Regional Medical. These two victims received non life threatening injuries.

Investigators have not released the names of the victims as of this time since the investigation is still on-going.

Hopefully police can get to the bottom of this soon and make arrest. 3 young men shot, 1 dead what a horrible way to end your high school homecoming. We will post updates here as more information becomes available.
