You know the song, You better watch out….
Well here in Orange County they are giving a new meaning to one of the favorite Christmas carols.
Santa’s Helpers are out and about and the are trying to spread the word, you better watch out…
Orange County Deputies are dressed as elves and Santa helpers in order to help keep traffic under control to help avoid holiday deaths.
Apparently they are working some pretty busy intersections where some avoidable accidents have occurred in the last few days. The Deputies want to let you know you better watch out.
Be safe and pay attention. As a paramedic it is amazing how many critical/fatal accidents occur that could have been prevented if the drivers would pay attention to driving.
So just keep this in mind as you are driving along and see Santa’s Helpers: If you are in violation of any traffic law, you may get more than you wanted for Christmas this year.
That’s right they are issuing citations and a lot of them. Apparently in a couple hour time period they issued over 60 citations, most of which were for running a red light.
So when you run that red light, don’t be surprised if you get stopped by an elf or another one of Santa’s Helpers.
Apparently they are going to be dressed up and working traffic for the next week and this seems to be a tradition Orange County Sheriff’s Office is starting.
One of the Deputies reported the reason they can do this right now is there has not been that many homicides or overdoses so far this holiday season so it gives the Deputies some time to spread that holiday cheer, Law Enforcement Style.
