Patrick Evans has been arrested for murder X2.
This murder took place in Pinellas County at a Sea Ketch Condo.
Patrick Evans is (now) the Former Jabil Circuit executive and he is accused of killing Elizabeth Evans, his estranged wife, and her friend Jerry Taylor Jr.
Now the defense team has been hard at work in this case and tried their best to keep some key evidence from being made public.
The defense team did not want the 911 tape released to the public, the defense claims it may cause the defendant not to get a fair trial.
Actually I think they are more worried about the evidence in the tape v/s his right to a fair trial.
The evidence heard was pretty damning against Patrick Evans. The 911 callback was all recorded and voices were heard and people were indentified.
The first part was the call was a 911 hang up at the condo and by policy the dispatcher called the number back and someone answered the phone.
During the call back the dispatcher was able to hear both victims call the suspect by name as they were trying to reason with them.
During the taped 911 call the police heard
Suspect: "Get on the bed."
Elizabeth: "I'm gonna put a robe on."
Suspect: "No, you're not. Get on the bed."
911 operator: "Hello? Hello?"
Jerry: "Rick"
Elizabeth: "Rick"
Suspect: "Get on the bed."
Jerry: "Put the gun down."
Elizabeth: "Help!"
Right after Elizabeth screamed for help, they hard a gunshot and then she said “are you out of your mind?”
The defense claims they are working to protect Patrick Evans’ rights to due process in this case.
Even though Patrick Evans was heard on tape and indentified on tape, he was allowed to plea not guilty.
Police are still investigating the case and still have not found the weapon used to kill Elizabeth Evans and Jerry Taylor, Jr.
And as if thing could not get any worse for Patrick Evans, he is the registered owner of a .40 caliber handgun which is the same caliber of handgun used to murder his estranged wife and her friend.
