More teachers in the news…This time it’s about drugs.

Over in Polk County…

Just a side note here, has any one noticed the amount of crime in Polk County? It seems that every single day there is something making national attention in Polk. I think if I were a criminal I would find a new place to reside, the Sheriff of Polk doesn’t seem to tolerate crime in his county.

Anyway, this time 2 Polk County teachers were arrested on drug charges Friday.

Bradley Michael Goldsmith, 25

Jessica A. Murray, 26

They taught at Donald E. Woods Alternative School. An investigation was started after a student was found with marijuana. The school resource officer found the marijuana in the student’s jacket pocket during a routine search for drugs.

Of course an investigation was conducted and where did that investigation lead the detectives? Yep, right to Goldsmith and Murray.

It appears that Goldsmith and Murray were living together. Murray and her boyfriend, Jason West, was kind enough to allow Goldsmith to live with them.

They admitted to smoking marijuana socially.

What the heck is smoking marijuana socially? Does that mean they only smoked when they bought it everyday? Or was it on some sort of schedule that Tuesday, Thursday and Friday night and all day Saturday? What does that mean? When did marijuana become a social event?

But during the search of the residence they could a bong, several glass pipes, and a marijuana grinder and of course they found marijuana.

All three of them were arrested and taken to the Polk County Jail and the charges consist of possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling for drug use.

Ouch!!! I need to look up the maintaining a dwelling for drug use charge, if nothing else it sounds pretty bad.

If I’m not mistaken there was a person charged in Clearwater a few months ago for maintaining a dwelling for drug use and that house was taken and turned into some type of community center. That would suck to lose your home over marijuana. But if people are stupid enough to violate the law and even more stupid to believe they will never get caught, then they deserve whatever happens to them.

Once again those responsible for the education of children sadly involved children in their illegal activities.

Wonder if the child is going to be charged with possession of marijuana.
