Holy Cow, What’s going on in the world today?

Holy Cow, What’s going on in the world today?

As you know I pick random cases to post about. Some days I will read a ton of news releases and decide not to post on any one of the topics that I read about.

Recently there has been so much to post about; I don’t even know where to start.

We have the case of the preacher in the pulpit preaching when a gun man comes into the church and starts shooting.
It was reported that 1 round hit the preacher’s bible and it looked like confetti flying through the air. People thought at first it was some type of stunt taking place in the church.

Sadly the other rounds killed the preacher and then he pulled a knife and a couple more people were injured.

Now of course the Christian thing to do would be to forgive the murderer for his crimes and that’s exactly what the church members have done. They have elected to pray for the murderer. Hopefully within there prayers they included the preacher. Of course no one in the news has said anything about praying for the preacher, just the murderer.

I do believe in God, The Father and The Holy Spirit and honestly don’t know if I could take such a stance in a case like this. I truly believe that some people are evil and there is no hope for them, regardless of what the good book says.

Then in Conover, North Carolina we have the police looking for a man after they found a mother and her 3 children killed in their home.

Apparently a neighbor called 911 and said that her neighbor was being assaulted on her front porch and when police arrived they found the victims either shot or stabbed to death.

Surprisingly the man is not the father of the children.

Then there is the case in Miami. A music teacher fatally shot his wife and two daughters and attempted to shot his son as well.

The killer’s last words were “I love you” and then he killed his daughters and wife.

The killers’ 16 year old son said his dad shot once at him and missed. Then the killer then put the gun to his head and killed himself.

The 16 year old was able to escape from the home and call police.

In Nevada police fatally shot a man in a hospital emergency room after he brandished a gun and then threatened suicide.

Police ended up firing several rounds at the man when he refused to drop the weapon. Police started shooting once the man raised the gun towards police.

Of course we cannot forget about the case in Samson, AL. 10 people were shot and killed in 2 South Alabama towns, including the gunman
.

The Alabama Department of Safety said there were 4 shootings that left 9 people dead and then the gunman took his own life.

The gunman even fired at a state trooper’s car, striking the vehicle several times and wounding the trooper. Thank God the trooper was injured by broken glass and not one of the gunman’s bullets.

Now as I was writing this post, I ran across this information. The shooting spree started with the gunman setting his own mother on fire. Her body was found in the home she shared with her son on a couch under a heap of burning clothes.

In Prescott, Arizona a convicted sex offender was accused of helping a man pose as a 12 year old boy enroll in Arizona schools has been sentenced to 51 years in prison
.

Brian Nellis, 37, received 3 consecutive 17 year prison terms with no change of parole. Nellis helped a 29 year old man, Neil Rodreick, pose as a 12 year old student and tricked not 1 but 4 different Arizona middle schools into allowing him to attend school as a student.

Nellis posed as Rodreick's cousin; they lived with two older men posing as Rodreick's uncle and grandfather.

Now even if some of the current events aren’t bad enough we have cases coming to light from years ago now.
Over in Marianna, FL after 60 years of suffering people are coming forward claiming that a state ran reform school was responsible for abuse.

One man in the media said he was 12 when he went to the White House Boys. They now want there stories investigated.

Seems to be it may be a little late on this one. Granted no child should ever have to endure abuse for any reason but 60 years ago I don’t see a lot happening in this case, granted in this tough economic time, we will still spend as much money as possible to investigate a crime that took place 60 years ago.

Over in Raleigh, NC, a teenager was found slain with her mother and two siblings. The girl had headed to school when she decided to go back home when her friend reported seeing a suspicious man outside her home.

They arrive back at the house and the man attacked the teen on the front porch and then the man pulled the girl inside. The friend was then able to call 911.

Once police arrived they found the 17 year old girl, her mother, her 20 year old sister and 3 year old brother all dead. All had been shot or stabbed.

Then we cannot forget Texas, during all the crime in the world, they put yet another inmate to death. Luiz Salazar was pronounced dead at 6:20pm on Wednesday.
Salazar was convicted of killing his former neighbor in San Antonio. Salazar also stabbed the woman’s 10 year old son in the chest as he tried to defend the woman.

And of that’s not enough for Texas, in North Richland Hills police say a man shot and wounded his estranged girlfriend, 37, then killed her mother,55, and her son, 17, before killing himself in a Fort Worth suburb.

The killer did not kill the 18 month old and it was report the baby was not injured.

In Tampa, FL a 17-year-old boy was stabbed after having a confrontation on a Hartline bus.

According to the victim, he was on the bus when an altercation ensued between him and several other people.

The sheriff's office says the altercation continued when the victim left the bus.
The victim was stabbed in the torso. He was transported to Tampa General Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time

Then in the safe city, St. Petersburg, FL a police officer received non life threatening injuries Wednesday while he attempted to stop a fleeing vehicle
.

The officer spotted a man in the area fitting the description of the suspect, the suspect tried to flee on foot and the officer gave chase.

Even though the officer used his taser and pepper spray, the suspect continued to fight and was able to get away from the officer.

The suspect had someone meet him and pick him up. As the suspect got into the car, the officer was still struggling with the suspect and the driver took off, dragging the officer 150 yards.

As the officer was being dragged, he was able to fire his service weapon and hit the suspects.

The police have not found the female driver as of yet, but the two suspects in the back seat that were shot have both been charged. 1 with attempted murder of a police officer and the second was an accessory to attempt to murder a police officer.

Then in Dedham, Mass, A jury convicted a Massachusetts man Thursday of raping and killing his 6-year-old cousin, rejecting his attorney's claim that the man was insane and "tortured by demons" when he committed the crime.

Ryan Bois, 22, received an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. The Norfolk Superior Court jury convicted him after eight hours of deliberation.

Then in Port Orange, not that this is crime related. A police officer was shot in the stomach.

Yep, not related to crime, but an officer was shot. A 14 year veteran of the police department accidentally shot himself Wednesday. The officer was in the training room by himself and somehow managed to shoot himself in the stomach.

The officer was rushed to the hospital and has been listed as stable.

So with everything bad happening in the world today, I have had plenty of cases to cover but there have been so many, I don’t know which ones to even pick out to make a post on.

It’s getting to the point of almost being scary and the police, government –city, state and federal really have to get something happening to get the crime sprees under control across the country. All these cases as you probably know just happened in the last few days.

I really don’t understand what is happening in the world. Is it just the fact that there are that many bad people in the world and they are finally coming out to commit more violent crimes?

Could part of the problem be a lack of law enforcement?

Just as an example, a friend of mine called the police because he was attacked by his 20 year old son. Once the police arrived 30 minutes later, the police told my friend that he had to leave the home and go check into a motel or something.
Never mind the fact that the underage person was intoxicated and on different rx pain pills and then not to mention he also took xanax which usually results in violent, suicidal behavior in the 20 year old.

The police said that since the teen was in his room they could not talk to him unless he gave his consent to be questioned by the police. My friend even reported the fact that he had been missing for over 10 hours and when he came home he brought illegal drugs into his house, the police still done nothing and sent my friend to a motel for the night.

I just don’t understand. It does help explain why people think they can get away with anything they want to do.

Could it be the reported financial crisis some claim we are in right now? The money problems have just put so much stress on people they are ready to snap over anything that happens? And is the economy really as bad as it seems or was this just part of a political campaign? I mean after all we just bailed out Citi-Bank with all the government money and they turn around and give out 3000 gift cards to there people because business was so good. This should be a topic for another post all together. Sorry for this one being in here.

Even here in Orlando the criminals are killing the competition. A pregnant lady was murdered because her man was a drug dealer and people knew the man kept a large amount of drugs and money in the home. They decided they wanted the drugs and money and broke into the home, shot and killed the pregnant lady and took the cash and drugs.

Thank god in my neighborhood finally some of the local drug dealers were evicted. It got to a point of seeing people with handguns and shotguns on a daily basis right out side my front door as there were traveling to the neighbors house to make there transactions. Fights were a daily part of their routine and overall being disorderly and interrupting a nice quite neighborhood. Even with many calls to the police, no action was taken. The police started to tell them that someone had it out for them and they needed to be careful.

Not one arrest was ever made even though there were underage people there intoxicated and drugged every single day.

It just seems like people are getting out of control and nothing is being done to restore order.

God bless us all.
