Firefighter needed a “rush” and the rush lead to his arrest…

Julio Colon, 29, a Hillsborough County Firefighter has been charged with exposing himself.

Last week a 16 year old girl was exposed as she was waking home along Broad Street.

Colon messed up this time though… The 16 year old was able to get his tag number.

In a prior incident Colon saw a lady jogging in front of a Spring Hill School. Colon sprang into action and parked his car and got out naked and screamed at the women so she would see him naked.

Once the lady saw him naked, she ran into the school and Colon was able to drive off.

But the 16 year old done the right thing, got the tag number and reported it.

When police caught up with Colon, he confessed. He also confessed to several similar acts in Hernando and Hillsborough Counties.

According to media reports Colon told the investigators it gave him a “rush” for the ladies to see him naked….

And once again, this is the part that I cannot stand; the department has placed Colon on administrative leave WITH PAY pending the outcome of the investigation.

Why in the world do we pay people when they get arrested?

I understand the entire right to remain innocent until proved guilty. But what I cannot understand is why we pay people to be arrested.

Any public service servant when arrested should lose all pay.

The leaders state they have no money for anything yet they can pay this guy to be in jail? Or home… I haven’t looked to see if he is in jail or has bonded out…

But my point is when police, fire, EMS people are arrested that should be it. I hold the public service community to higher standers than anyone else. These people are entrusted with our lives and there is no place in public service for people like Colon.

Even if he would happen to win in court, he will always be a marked man. Obviously the man has some serious issues and issues that do not warrant him to be on a paid leave.

He took actions to give him the rush, he confessed to his actions (and a lot more the police probably did not know about) and now the county wants to keep paying him.

This really makes no sense to me at all. I would strongly support a law that states if any public service official is arrested they loose all benefits on the spot.

If they want to complain about that, DON’T BREAK THE LAW ASSHOLE…
(Sorry that was from the movie Liar, Liar)

What are your thoughts on a Public Service Official getting arrested?
