Stupid Criminal Number .999, 987,456 (well I don’t know the actual number, I have lost count.)

Let me introduce you to Edward J. Dial.

Dial, 31 decided to take a trip to the Marion County Jail. It’s pretty apparent Dial did not put a lot of thought into his plans.

First where would one place be you would never want to drive too if you did not have a license or your vehicle was unregistered?

It would seem there is a rather simple answer to that question.

Seems most reasonable people would want to avoid any location where there might be cops, the fuzz, the 50’s, the g-men, whatever your slang term may be for the police. If you know you are in violation of law, you want to avoid the police at all cost while out driving around. Right? Or am I out in left field somewhere by myself on this one…lol…

So with that in mind, where did Edward Dial decide to drive? Right to the Marion County Jail. Surely there would be no cops at the jail that he would have to worry about. Maybe the crime rate is so low in Marion County the cops never go there? Well whatever the case was Dial drove right to the jail.

Now you ask what was Dial’s intention at the jail? Good Question. The answer well help put Dial right up there with the most stupid criminals.

Dial took a package to the jail and as stupid as he was, he went in and told the staff he was there to visit an inmate. But he did not visit any inmate and elected to leave a package at the jail.

The jail staff had to lock down the jail and then have the package removed. The bomb squad (I guess) took the package out and had to blow it up. It turns out the package left was harmless, but it still created problems at the jail.

Now Dail has been charged with

Threat to bomb – Planting of hoax bomb
Fraud Poss Display Blank Forged Stolen DR Lic or ID
Unregistered motor vehicle
FOP Felony Flee/Elude
FOB Grand Theft.

First, why would one want to blow up a jail and cause a bomb scare there? It goes hand in hand with criminals being stupid enough to go somewhere that is under continuous surveillance. Just like the airport criminal I posted on here, why would you want to go anywhere that is under continuous surveillance and commit a crime?

Why not just be nice enough to send an email to the police along with your personal information to give them a heads up that you are going to commit a crime before hand. That way it would at least assist the police a little more in your capture. Let’s save tax dollars here and make it easy for the police. I mean after all you are committing crimes in areas being recorded and leaving your photo behind for them anyway.

Now if Dial wasn’t dumb enough, he took it one step further. Driving to the jail wasn’t so bad. I mean after all he made it to the jail and avoided arrest. Why not take it one more step and go in the jail? That’s exactly what Dial done, he took his package into the jail and said he was there too visit an inmate.

Now I have never been to Marion County Jail, but for some reason I believe they would require some form of ID to enter the jail to visit an inmate.

Anyway, we will add Edward Dial to the Stupid Criminal list for his ability to prove he was unable to put any thought into his crimes

Dial said he done this to get attention. Well Mr. Dial, I hope you got all the attention you wanted because in your quest for attention it also got you labeled as stupid criminal number 999,987,456.
