Guns in School = Quick Arrest

Don’t believe me; just ask Tedric Taylor what happens when you take a gun to school.

Taylor, 16 years old, decided to take a loaded handgun to Oak Ridge High School.

Now if taking the gun there wasn’t bad enough, Taylor decided to take yet another “smart criminal” step and allegedly chased a middle school student with the gun.

Now thanks the to fact that Taylor has a lengthy rap sheet, the first words he told police was he found the loaded semi-automatic pistol. Not sure exactly what he said but at least he could have come up with something a little more creative in how he came to be in possession of a firearm on school grounds.

Even though he stated he “found” the gun, after police surrounded the classroom he was in they were able to locate the handgun in Taylor’s book bag.

If you find a gun at school would you not take it to the office or the on site police officer? If you really found a gun why would you want to keep it?

With Taylor’s rap sheet, he has been arrested at least 5 times at the age of 16 for crimes ranging from burglary to grand theft. And interesting enough it has been reported that in 2005 he was arrested for possession of a weapon on school property.

Wonder if he “found” that gun as well?

This would be yet another prime case to know more about his family life. What has gone wrong in his life? And why would a 12 year old need to take a gun to school? Was it so he could be “big and bad”, to make a name for himself? Was it to prove he is a criminal or gangster and trying to maintain that image in school? Who knows? I don’t.

Sometimes the more I blog about different crimes the more I really don’t understand people at all.

Sadly those responsible for the 16 year old will want to blame someone else for the problems they have had controlling a 16 year old. Now that they can say a lot, Taylor’s criminal past started apparently when he was 12, so it’s not like it was a new problem that just happened…

Hopefully this time the teen will be tried as an adult. Hopefully he will get a taste of the prison life for a while. Lets see how “big and bad” his is in prison. Wonder if any other inmates will let him chase them around so Taylor can maintain his image in there…..

Best of luck to you Mr. Taylor… Once this is said and done, let us know how things went for you, we would like to do a follow up story on you when this is over….

I think partially what's to blame is the system itself....for juveniles get a slap on the wrist so often for crimes they commit, it's a joke.

When a judge says that next time they'll throw the book at them, the next time arrives - and it's a different judge. He doesn't throw the book at the juvenile at all - so where's the punishment to keep these so-called 'kids' in order?

If they have a rap sheet like another teen I know very well, they probably snicker underneath those pleading eyes knowing very well that they're not going to be faced with jail time at all - they're not considered 'bad enough'. I guess they have to be stupid enough like this Taylor kid or even murder someone before the system takes notice. Which is sad, very sad, for I'm sure some kids need to go to the bar hotel so they can get that reality check on the stupidity they think is 'fun' or 'cool'.

All I can say is AMEN Eccentric Lady.....

I think that overall the juvenile system does a good job as long as its not a criminal offense.

I agree 100% that the juvenile system has become a joke with dealing with crimnial offenses.

The juveniles know this along with everyone else. So its nothing for a juvenile to consider breaking the law.

I even agree more that if a child breaks an adult law, they need to have some time to think in the bar hotel....
